Reviews and reflections of all aspects of live theatre in Central Florida

Author: Ilana Jael

Ilana Jael is a playwright, critic, and essayist who considers her love of theatre to be her defining passion. She has studied her craft at Sarah Lawrence College, where she earned her MFA in Creative Nonfiction, which follows a BA in Writing and Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. Before her recent move to Orlando, she served as lead critic and a frequent feature writer for the virtual publication South Florida Theater Magazine, and has also written theatre reviews for MD Theatre Guide. Her short plays and one-acts have been produced in-person and virtually throughout South Florida, and she occasionally dabbles in acting as well. Currently, she also serves as a board and ensemble member for New City Players, a Fort Lauderdale based company with a defining vision of creating community through transformative theatre. Catch her next big project—an original solo show called Things That I Destroy—coming to Orlando Fringe in 2025!
