The Orlando Theatre Review was born out of the idea that Central Florida needed a site that reviewed local theatre performances as well as covered the behind-the-scenes look at the theatre industry and its people. The site was created by Erik Deckers, a seasoned travel writer and long-time supporter of the arts. It was born of the idea that, amidst the enchanting theme parks and bustling attractions, the beauty and importance of live theatre remains largely unsung in Central Florida.
With 35 theaters in Central Florida, the Orlando Theatre Review amplifies these voices, shines a spotlight on performances that captivate, inspire, and provoke thought. More than just reviews, we’ll take a deep dive into the workings of the theatre world to spotlight the artists, directors, technicians, and visionaries who breathe life into each production.
It’s also about fostering a community. We invite theatergoers to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Orlando’s cultural landscape, discovering hidden gems, supporting local talent, and creating connections that go beyond the footlights. By celebrating the diversity of theatrical experiences, we want to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of storytelling.
At the Orlando Theatre Review, we believe that every curtain rise is a promise of new beginnings, and every standing ovation is a testament to the collective spirit of creativity and camaraderie. Join us and be a part of the magic.
